The unsurpassed Glass Beach is similar to other patches of sand and shoreline found throughout Hawaii and other Pacific Islands. The beautiful display of stunning smooth multicolored pieces of glass was originally formed from years of trash, such as vehicle tail lights and glass bottles, dumped along the coastlines, and over time, the individual pieces were naturally polished and swept along the beach in an illustrious display of shine and color. Although this attraction is an incredible scene for photography and also a very family-friendly experience to take advantage of, the glass is actually protected by the local government to ensure there will always be glass left for future visitors to appreciate. Ready for a maze and uniquely local landscape? Head to the next must-see destination.
