In Punta Cana, relax at a resort, walk along Bavaro Beach, surf, and try the numerous restaurants, which offer up an eclectic variety of flavors from Indian to Mexican to Italian. If you could use a break from the beach, Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Marvel at the National Pantheon and the Palacio de Bellas Artes, a neo-classical building complete with gardens, and be sure to walk down the cobblestone Calle de Las Damas. Finish your action-packed day at a pool bar or lounge, sipping on drinks, listening to live music and recounting all of the things you experienced in this tropical paradise.
